James Clarke serves as the Division Manager and Corporate Vice President of Fillmore Commercial Real Estate, a Brooklyn-based licensed real estate brokerage. He began his work with Fillmore in 1985 and has headedhe commercial division since 1994. With a background in accounting and law, the commercial real estate industry was a natural fit for his aptitude in financing and negotiating lease and sales terms. Mr. Clarke first became involved with schools by representing a national company in placing three schools throughout NYC. He first placed a charter school in a private facility in 2003. His development of strong partnerships in the not-for-profit arena over the past 20 years have aided in his success. These relationships, such as those with the Diocese of Brooklyn and the Archdiocese of New York, have proven pivotal to the placement of charter schools in private facilities. In fact, he placed the first ever charter school to be allowed to occupy a Diocese of Brooklyn building.
Mr. Clarke is also affiliated with the boards of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation.
